Step 1: Decide on Your Visa Type
Begin by determining which visa category suits your visit to Austria and ensure you fulfil all eligibility criteria. Take time to understand the required paperwork, estimated processing time, and associated fees.
Step 2: Gather Necessary Documents
Ensure you have all the essential paperwork for your Austria visa. Use the document checklist provided below. If any documents are not in English, consider translating them before submission.
Step 3: Start Your Application
Once you've chosen your visa type and collected all required documents, download and fill out the application form.
Step 4: Arrange Your Appointment
After submitting your visa application, schedule an appointment at the VFS Visa Application Centre for biometric data collection, including fingerprints and a photo. Upon booking, you'll receive a confirmation email containing your appointment letter.
Step 5: Pay Your Fees
If online payment isn't available for service fees, make sure to pay them at the Visa Application Centre along with the visa fees during your appointment.
Step 6: Visit the Visa Centre
Once you've submitted your online application and paid the visa fee, print the payment fee receipt. These documents are essential when you submit your application at the designated Visa Application Centre. Remember, you must personally submit your fully completed visa application form and documents at one of the designated Visa Application Centres unless instructed otherwise.
Step 7: Monitor Your Application
If you applied at a VFS visa application centre, use the online application tracking tool to keep track of your application's progress. Simply enter the reference number issued to you along with your date of birth.
Step 8: Collect Your Visa
Once a decision is made on your visa application, you can collect your documents and passport either in person at the Visa Application Centre or through courier, depending on your chosen delivery method during application submission.
