Broadly, Slovenia offers 2 kinds of visas to Indians- short-term Schengen (type ‘C’) visa and long-term National (type ’D’) visa. The Schengen visa can be further classified into various categories-

Step 1: Identify Your Visa Type

The first step is to determine the right visa for your trip. For tourism apply for a tourist visa, for business trips, apply for a business visa, etc. These are all categorised under Schengen type ‘C’ visa. 

Step 2: Fill out Your Visa Application Form

Collect all the required documents for your visa application form. Fill out the Visa Application Form for Slovenia online. Print and Sign it. You will need to submit it at the VFS Centre.

Step 3: Book An Appointment With VFS Global

Schedule an appointment at the Slovenia VFS Visa Application Centre to submit your visa application form and the required documents. You need to apply in person. Even if you’re travelling in a group, you need to book an individual appointment for each group member. 

Step 4: Pay Visa Fees

Pay your Slovenian visa fee online. A Schengen visa costs around € 90 for people above 12 years of age and € 45 for 6-12-year-olds. VFS has additional charges for its services. The amount can be paid in cash or by card at the VFS centre. (If you download the form to print and bring it to the Visa Application Centre, payment will be made at the time of your appointment, else you can make the payment online).

Step 5: Pay a Visit to the VFS Visa Application Centre

Submit your printed application form and documents at the VFS Global office in person. Also, pay the fee (if not paid online) and submit your biometrics. If you didn’t book an appointment with VFS online you can attend walk-ins between 08 am and 11 am as well.

Step 6: Collect Your Passport and Other Documents From VFS

Once the visa authorities have decided on your Slovenian visa application, you can collect your documents back from them. You can either collect the documents in person or avail of their courier services at an additional price. 

You will need the Original ICR & Copy of Govt ID Proof for collecting your documents in person.

Your immediate family members (i.e. parents, siblings, spouse, or children) or representatives of a company can also collect the documents on your behalf.

In case an applicant loses their ICR, they need to come in person for the collection of their passport from the counter.

It can take approximately 15 days to get a decision on your Slovenian visa application. 

Fee applicable for short-term Slovenia visas for Indians (i.e., Schengen visa type ‘C’ for tourism, attending business conferences, visiting friends & family, etc.)-

The Slovenian Embassy can take around 15 days to process your Schengen visa. Make sure to lodge your Slovenia visa application as early as possible. But remember you can’t lodge your application earlier than 3 months before your travel date. (For Schengen visas to most other countries, this limit is 6 months).
