Yes, ordinary Indian passport holders need a Schengen visa to visit the Slovak Republic for tourism, sightseeing, short business trips, or other related purposes. Since Slovakia is part of the Schengen Area, a single Schengen visa allows travellers to visit multiple Schengen countries, including Slovakia, within the visa's validity period, which is usually 180 days.
For Indian citizens intending to visit Slovakia, there are primarily 2 types of Slovakia visa for Indians depending on the purpose and duration of the visit. These include:

To apply for a Schengen visa or short-term visa for Slovakia follow the steps below:
Step 1: Find out your visa type
The type of Slovakia visa you need to apply for depends on your purpose of visit. For instance, individuals wanting to visit Slovakia for tourism need to apply for a Slovakia tourist visa. If you are travelling for business purposes, apply for a business visa. These are all short-term Schengen visas. Step 2: Make an account with BLS International and fill out your visa application
Put in your email address, set a password, and register with BLS International - Slovakia’s official visa partner for India. Fill out your visa application form for Slovakia.
Step 3: Schedule an Appointment with BLS
Schedule an appointment with BLS. The earlier you book your Slovakia visa appointment slot, the better. This ensures you have ample time to gather all required documents.

Step 4: Visit Your Nearest BLS Visa Application Centre for Slovakia
Visit the visa application centre. There are visa application centres in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.
Visa applications should be made in person. If the applicant is a minor, they should apply along with their parents or legal guardians.
In some cases, you may be invited for a personal interview as well.
Step 5: Collect Your Visa
Once a decision has been reached on your visa application, you can retrieve your documents and passport from the BLS Visa Application Centre. Alternatively, if you chose a courier service during your application submission, your documents will be returned to you by the selected courier. It can take approximately 15 working days to process your short-term visa and 30 working days to process your long-term visa application for Slovakia.

A Schengen visa may be valid for one, two, or multiple entries. First-time travellers are usually given a single-entry visa.
The national visa is granted for a stay longer than three months, a maximum of one year.
The Slovakian Embassy can take roughly 15 working days to process your visa application from the day the application form reaches them.
Do note that the days when the application is in transit between the Visa Application Centre and the Embassy are not counted. Also, this isn’t a rigid timeframe. In some cases which require added scrutiny, the authorities may take up to 45 days to process your visa application.

In exceptional circumstances, a short-stay visa can be prolonged to 90 days within any 180-day timeframe. If a foreign national is unable to depart from the Slovak Republic due to natural disasters, humanitarian reasons, or significant personal matters, the validity of their visa may be extended by the appropriate police department.
