Introduction

Are you planning a business trip to Mexico or heading there for work? For Indian nationals, securing the right visa is crucial for navigating Mexico's dynamic economy and cultural landscape.

Understanding the visa process ensures you can smoothly navigate entry requirements and focus on your business objectives. Whether you're attending meetings, exploring partnerships, or starting new ventures, the Mexico business visa is your gateway to diving into Latin America's thriving business scene.

In this blog, you'll find a step-by-step guide that provides a comprehensive understanding of everything you need to know about the Mexico business visa.

What is a Mexico Business Visa?

A Mexican business visa is meant for foreigners, like Indians travelling from India, who need to go to Mexico strictly for business reasons. Unlike a tourist visa, it doesn't cover leisure activities.

With this visa, you can do things like attend meetings, conferences, negotiate contracts, or conduct business-related research in Mexico. It basically lets you handle your business affairs there without needing a work permit.

Step 2: Book your appointment for a business visa through Citas website.  Each applicant, regardless of age, must book a separate appointment. If you encounter the message "no office found" while scheduling an appointment through the CITAS system, it indicates that no appointments are currently available.

Step 3: Pay the $51.00 USD visa application fee, equivalent to INR at the current exchange rate. Payment is non-refundable and must be made only after scheduling an appointment through NEFT or cash deposit.

Include your passport number as a reference and present the payment receipt during document submission.

Important

Any payment made to the wrong bank cannot be refunded and must be resubmitted to the correct bank.

Step 4:  Attend your appointment with all required documents and the payment receipt. Ensure you have the confirmation letter from the CITAS website and a surgical mask. Minors must be prepared for biometric data collection (photo and fingerprints). Payment is nonrefundable, and all documents must be complete to avoid rescheduling. Please arrive 15 minutes early to facilitate entry.

Processing Time for a Mexico Business Visa

The processing time for a Mexico business visa typically ranges from 2 to 5 working days, assuming your application is complete and meets all requirements. However, several factors can affect the actual processing duration. The workload of the embassy or consulate where you apply plays a significant role—if they are handling a large number of applications, there may be a slight delay.

Stay Duration of a Mexico Business Visa

The Mexico business visa allows Indian citizens to stay in Mexico for up to 180 days. This visa is intended for business-related activities such as attending meetings, conferences, or seminars. It does not permit employment or long-term residence in Mexico.

How to Extend a Mexico Business Visa?

If you have a short-term business visa, its validity cannot be changed, modified, or extended. However, if you hold a Temporary Resident Visa for business purposes, you can renew it to extend your stay in Mexico. To do so, you must apply for an extension at the National Migration Institute (INM) before your current visa expires. Make sure to provide all required documents and comply with the INM’s regulations during the application process.
